Let’s Eat for The Power of One — Gotta Catch ‘Em All!

Nourishing my body and soul with me, myself and I at Cheeky Chicken before a Pokémon Go adventure

“Lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely,
I have nobody for my own
I’m so lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely
I have nobody for my own
I’m so lonely.”

Before I began my solo adventure of catching Pokémon around the Lower East Side of NYC, I decided to fill up my tummy. After all, who knew how many hours upon hours I would play?

I originally planned on going to a Kopitiam but that Malaysian tiny joint was PACKED. I silently laughed to myself like a crazy person and whispered “fudgenuts.” I began hungrily searching for another place.

I stumbled across this cute little joint with a run-down look and papers taped onto the windows.

Pretty creative, just my style! I was pretty hesitant about going inside since the hours were “kinda early to kinda late (for now).” But I was so hungry and my stomach was starting to eat itself, so I stepped inside and ordered me some food!

The seating at Cheeky Sandwiches is very limited but lucky for me, it wasn’t crowded.  Only the main table (an actual wooden dining table) was taken. There were two other tables, one in front of the open kitchen and another facing the wall, that were empty.

I sat in front of the open kitchen, being a creep and watching them work those skills. The staff are friendly and the food came pretty quickly.

The Chicken Cheeky sandwich (fried chicken, buttermilk biscuit, cole slaw, gravy) was amazing!

Messy, but worth it! Wish they had provided me with a knife earlier so I could be all fancy.. but.. that option was only provided to me when I was almost done with the sandwich 🙁

Don’t worry, if you don’t feel like ordering a drink, they will provide you with a cup of water.

Or if you want, you can place that cup of water next to you and pretend you’re with somebody.

I asked if I could charge my phone and the staff was kind enough to let me use his charger. A++

The Po’ boy looks good too! Mmmm.

All happy and fueled up, I was ready to embark on my Pokémon GO adventure!
